Wednesday’s event was held in recognition of companies and tourist services in the region for its commitment to quality tourism and its involvement in the care and visitor information

In Sitges, 5 tourist information points have been recognised under the Project Points of information you want to present to the participants tourism, through presentations and classroom visits, created a network of reporters and opinion leaders who have quality tourist information.

Regarding the Tourist Quality Commitment, Sitges has received 24 awards which recognise most beaches, shops and businesses in the city to continuous improvement in the management and processes and their competitiveness and service quality. Among the awards include 13 urban beaches of Sitges, the Aiguadolç port of Sitges Heritage Consortium of Sitges, Sitges Tourist Office or the local police, as well as various hotels in the city that have a long history.

The awards ceremony featured speeches by the President of NODE Garraf Canyelles mayor, Rosa Huguet; Tourism deputy delegate and mayor of Sitges, Miquel Forns; and Glòria García, Second Deputy Mayor of Vilanova, Councilor for Economy, Finance and Security and President of the Regional Council of Garraf. He also attended Francesc Vila, Manager of Tourism Services of the Barcelona Provincial Council.

The Mayor, Miquel Forns, highlighted the importance of this recognition, explained “is a demonstration of the high degree of excellence achieved by the entire tourism industry in our town.” According to Batlle, the distinctions” spur us to continue working on the road opened by the Quality Tourism Plan.”
